After the VCN3000 Sets Up a Two-Node Cluster, the IP Addresses of Other Network Segments Cannot Be Pinged

Publication Date:  2019-04-23 Views:  79 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Before the VCN3000 (V100R002C00SPC104) sets up a two-node cluster, the IP addresses of other network segments can be pinged. The network configuration is normal. After the two-node cluster is set up, the active and standby nodes cannot ping the IP addresses of other network segments.

Handling Process

1. Check the configuration of the two-node cluster. The floating IP address and the IP addresses of the active and standby nodes are correct.

2. Log in to the server using the CRT tool and run ifconfig to check the IP address configuration of the active node.

The network segments of the active node and floating IP address are correctly configured. However, the subnet mask of the active node is 255.255.255.128, but that of the floating IP address is 255.255.255.0.<0}

3. Run ifconfig bond1:0 floating IP address netmask subnet mask to change the subnet mask of the floating IP address to that of the active node.<0}

4. Change the subnet mask of the floating IP address for the standby node and restart the server.

Root Cause

The subnet mask of the floating IP address is different from that of the active node. As a result, the IP address of another network segment cannot be pinged.

Solution

Run ifconfig bond1:0 floating IP address netmask subnet mask to change the subnet mask of the floating IP address to the actual network mask.
