Fan of the RH2288 V3 Is Faulty

Issue Description

An indicator is on in red on the server panel. The following alarm information is displayed on the BMC:

Sensor: FAN3 F Status; Event Description: Fault Status

The alarm is cleared after the fan is replaced.

Handling Process

1. Check the indicators on the server panel. An indicator is on in red.

2. Log in to the BMC and query alarm information. A fan alarm is displayed.

3. Record the fan slot for which the alarm is generated.

4. Power off the server, record the network cable connection position of the server, and remove the cable.

5. Open the chassis, locate the faulty fan, and replace it.

6. Install the chassis cover and the server.

7. Insert the power cable of the server. The server is automatically powered on.

8. Log in to the BMC and query alarm information. The alarm is cleared and the alarm indicator on the server panel is distinguished.

9. Reconnect network cable according to the recorded information.

Root Cause

The fan of the server is faulty.

Solution

If the fan is damaged, replace the faulty fan with a new one.

Suggestions

If a fault occurs, log in to the BMC management NIC to check for the faulty hardware. If the alarm is caused by a hardware fault, replace the faulty hardware.
