Issue Description

In eSight V300R007C00SPC500, the connected servers report alarms periodically. Even if these alarms are manually cleared on eSight, they will be reported again later.

Solution

Upgrade eSight to the latest patch release. The latest patch release for V300R007 is SPC504. You can solve this problem by upgrading eSight to V300R007C00SPC504. The alarm synchronization interface is incorporated in later versions of the servers. Therefore, to ensure that the alarm synchronization function can be used properly after eSight is upgraded, upgrade the server management software to the latest version.

 

The alarm synchronization interface provided by the server is incomplete. As a result, when eSight synchronizes alarms, the events on the server are also synchronized. Because the alarm synchronization mode is SNMP trap, eSight cannot distinguish whether the alarms are newly generated or synchronized, and events on the server are synchronized to eSight via this alarm synchronization interface.

In later versions, the server provides a new alarm synchronization interface, which synchronizes alarms by queries. In addition, only the current alarms of the server can be queried, and events cannot be queried. The problem is solved after eSight adapts to this interface in later patch versions.
