Publication Date:  2019-04-23 Views:  337 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

After UltraPath 21.1.2 had been installed in RHEL 7.2, the system displayed a message "unable to detect UltraPath device node" when the upadmin command was executed. Commands such as upadmin show path could not be used.

However, the output of the rpm -qa |grep Ul command showed that UltraPath had been installed.

Alarm Information

unable to detect UltraPath device node

Handling Process

1. After the service nxup start command was executed, UltraPath could be used normally.

2. After the host was restarted, UltraPath became unavailable again.

3. A remote check showed that the /etc/systemd/system/sysinit.target.wants/ directory was missing.

4. After the directory was manually created and the host was restarted, UltraPath became normal.

Root Cause

The /etc/systemd/system/sysinit.target.wants/ directory was missing.

Suggestions

Manually create the /etc/systemd/system/sysinit.target.wants/ directory and restart the device.
