DEC6108 Decoder Cannot Upload the Upgrade Package

Issue Description

The DEC6108 decoder supports only Internet Explorer. During an upgrade, it takes more than 10 minutes to upload the upgrade package using Internet Explorer 11, 

  Window prompt “The upgrade package is being uploaded, please wait

The local path of the file to be uploaded in the browser is C:\fakepath\...., which is different from the actual path.

Handling Process

When a customer searches for documents on the Internet, the browser replaces the file path names that may expose user names or other content to protect privacy and security. In this case, you can solve the problem by modifying the security settings of the browser. Set the parameters in the IE browser as follows:

On the browser page, choose Tools > Internet Options > Security. In the Security tab page, click Custom level. In the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone dialog box, select Enable for Include local directory path when uploading files to a server in Others.

Root Cause

The IE browser has security settings to protect client information, such as the client folder structure. By default, Include local directory path when uploading files to a server is set to Disabled.

Solution

Set the parameters in the IE browser as follows:

On the browser page, choose Tools > Internet Options > Security. In the Security tab page, click Custom level. In the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone dialog box, select Enable for Include local directory path when uploading files to a server in Others.

Suggestions

1. This problem is caused by the security policy of the browser. You can modify the security settings of the browser temporarily. After the upgrade is complete, restore the settings.
