Failed to Install the Client of FusionInsight HD C80SPC200, and an Error Message "The NTP service is not available" Is Displayed

Publication Date:  2019-04-25 Views:  108 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

After FusionInsight HD C80SPC200 is installed, a user selects an application server (OS: Red hat 6.7) outside the cluster to download and install the client. The installation fails, and an error message "The NTP service is not available" is displayed.

Handling Process

1. Run the service ntpd status command to check whether the NTP service is running properly. However, no command output is displayed after running the nptq -pn command. 2. Check the /etc/ntp.conf configuration file. The NTP server is configured, and the domain name cannot be accessed.

3. Add the following information to the file /etc/ntp.conf: server (IP address of the active OMS node) prefer. For example: server 192.168.1.1 prefer.

4. Restart the NTP service, run the service ntpd stop command, and then run the service ntpd start command.

Solution

1.Check whether the NTP service is running properly. If the service is not running, enable the NTP service to ensure that the time difference between the node time and cluster time is less than 5 minutes.

2. Run the nptq -pn command to check whether the NTP service is available.

If no command output is displayed, check whether the IP address of the NTP server is configured and available.

If the IP address is not available, it is recommended that the IP address of the active OMS node be added to ensure that the NTP service is available.
