MCU Registration Fails After the SMC1.0 License Becomes Invalid

Publication Date:  2019-04-25 Views:  42 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

The ViewPoint 8650 prompts a deregistration due to an RRQ timeout, although earlier registration was successful.

Handling Process

1. Check whether the SMC1.0 GK is normal. It is found that some other terminals register with the GK successfully. This confirms that the GK service is normal.

2. Check the reason for the MCU registration failure based on the SMC1.0 GK logs on that day. The default path is C:\Program Files \Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd\SMC\SwitchCentre\log.

According to the logs:

The system is busy.

According to other logs:

The GK license of the SMC reaches the upper limit.

3. It is suspected that the SMC license is incorrect. Onsite engineers provide the license file from the following default path:

C:\Program Files \Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd\SMC\license

The license file is empty. Replace the incorrect license based on the contract number, and then restart the service. The problem is solved.
