Configuration: a Huawei
Tecal RH2288H V3 server+ an LSISAS3108 RAID controller card + 6 x 2 TB SATA
hard disk + 2 x 300 GB SAS hard disk
RAID configuration: Five
2 TB SATA hard disks are configured for a RAID 5, one 2 TB SATA hard disk is
configured as a dedicated hot spare disk, and two 300 GB SAS hard disks are
configured for RAID 1.
The hard disk in slot0
is in the unconfig bad (UB) state. The hot spare disk in slot5 is added to RAID
5 and the RAID 5 rebuild is complete. After the hard disk in slot0 is replaced,
fail to import the configuration of the hard disk in slot0 back to RAID 5.
1. In the RAID configuration
window, set slot0 to foreign and then clear the foreign configuration.

1. On the VD Mgmt page, select
slot5 (the hot spare disk) and select Copyback to copy the data back to
the target disk in slot0.
The hot spare disk is
added to RAID5 and the RAID5 rebuild is complete. Remove and insert the hard
disk back to slot0, but the hard disk cannot be added to the RAID group.
Because the hard disk cannot be
removed and inserted back again, you are advised to clear the RAID
configuration of the faulty hard disk in slot0 and copy data back from slot5 to
slot0 remotely. If you can remove the faulty hard disk from the slot, manually
remove the hard disk and insert back. The RAID controller card supports
automatic configuration copyback.
