Issue Description

Video surveillance VCN3020 (V100R002C20SPC200) configures RAID on the OMU client. Choose rebuilt RAID group and RAID 5. The result shows that the RAID group fails to be initialized and the RAID group fails to be rebuilt. The hard disk indicators are normal, and no alarm is generated on the device.

Handling Process

Step 1. Log in to the OMU client to check whether any hard disk is about to be faulty or offline. All hard disks are normal and no faults occur.
Step 2. Use the Xshell5 tool (or SSH) to log in as the root user. Run the command smio_info disk -f 0 -d all to view all details about the hard disks, indicating that the capacity of hard disk 6 cannot be identified, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3. Remove the hard disk and insert it again. The disk still cannot be identified. The slot corresponding to hard disk 6 functions properly after replace hard disk 6 with other disks. Therefore, hard disk 6 is faulty.

Root Cause

The offline disk 6 cannot be identified by the IVS platform. The disk fails to be identified during formatting, and the RAID fails to be initialized.

Replace the original disk 6.

View the disk status based on the alarm indicators on the IVS platform. If necessary, log in to the underlying system to view the disk status.
