What if I hold down the MODE button on the S5700?
If the device is not
using its factory settings, after you hold down the MODE button for 6s, all
mode indicators blink green and then the device is restored to the default
state 10s later. This does not affect the original configuration of the device.
If the device is using its
factory settings, but if the device is just started or if the device is
operated through the serial port, the device may fail to enter the initial
setting mode after you hold down the MODE button for 6s. If the device fails to
enter the initial setting mode, all mode indicators blink, and the device is
then restored to the default state 10s later.
If you do not save the
configuration information within 10 minutes after the device enters the initial
setting mode, the device will automatically exit the initial setting mode and
restores the factory settings.
For a switch model
running V200R006 or later with the MODE button on its panel: If the switch is
using its factory settings and the serial port is not connected, hold down the
MODE button for 6s or longer. All mode indicators of the switch are steady
green, and the switch enters the initial setting mode. After the switch enters
this mode, the system sets the IP address of the switch to 192.168.1.253/24 by
default, and sets the default level of the admin user to 15, with the password email@example.com.
