Issue Description

The customer feedbacks that the conference has no sound and the system displays a message, ‘Failed to connect TE40 to VPM220W’.

Alarm Information

Failed to connect TE40 to VPM220W.

Handling Process

1.  Check whether the TE terminal reach the maximum connections of VPM220W.

The maximum connections of C10 and later version.


TE40 or TE50





The maximum connections of C10 and earlier version.


 E40 or TE50





2.  Check whether the status of VPM220W is standby.

3.  Check whether the TEX0 WIFI configuration is wrong via RC interface or Web interface.

Root Cause

The possible causes are as follows:

1. TE terminal reaches maximum connection of VPM220W.

2. The status of VP220W is standby.

3. TE terminal disables the WIFI or the WIFI configuration is wrong.


The VPM220W is in a deep sleep (standby) state. Press the center button of the disc to wake up the VPM220W when the VPM220W is in a sleep state.

(How to set the terminal in case it goes into the sleep state.

1.      Log in to the web page as admin user.

2.      Choose System Setting > Input/Output > Audio, configure the Wireless MIC power saving mode to Enable.

If you enable this, when the terminal sleeps, the wireless microphone VPM220W will also sleep to save power. The VPM220W cannot be woken up when the terminal is woken up. To wake up the VPM220W, press the mute button on it.

If you disable this, when the endpoint sleeps, the VPM220W will also sleep to save power. In addition, the VPM220W can be woken up when the terminal is woken up.


The WIFI is not enabled on the TE terminal or the Wi-Fi configuration is incorrect.

1. Enter the IP address on the bowser and log in as admin user.

2. Choose System Setting > Network > Wi-Fi Setting.


3.After the setting is completed, press and hold the button in the center of the M220W surface disc for 3 seconds. The terminal's remote control operation interface pops up the confirmation dialog box, and click Confirm in the dialog box. At this time, the M220W and the TE terminal will perform a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) authentication connection, and acquire an IP address from the terminal.
