MPLS LSPs Failed to Be Created Because of Specifications Limitation

Issue Description

After an NE40 on the live network was reset, MPLS LSPs failed to be created for some connected devices, resulting in service interruption.

The log information on the NE40 was as follows:

#May 18 19:18:55 2012 CC-R-3 TNLM/4/TRAP:
Error: Number of Tunnel ID exceeds the available value. Allocation space: Global 1. Please update the corresponding PAF value.

Handling Process

Huawei performed the following operations to address the problem:

1. Checked the token specifications for establishing MPLS LSPs for 32-bit addresses.
The token resources allowed establishment of a maximum of 1000 LSPs.

2. Ran display mpls lsp to query the number LSPs on the current NE40E.

The NE40E had more than 1000 LSPs.

Root Cause

The token resources were insufficient.


Upgrade the NE40 to V3R5 in which the specifications of MPLS LSP tokens are 16000.
