Issue Description

【Problem Summary】Access Ring in IPRAN network lose resilience on half ring

【Problem Details】

4 NE40E works as P nodes, Cisco MWR2942 on the ring work as PE provide access to wireless site. L3VPN start directly from MWR2942 router.  OSPF 520 and OSPF 1 import route from each other on AG51 and AG52.

L3VPN service from right half MWR  ring goes down after the link cut between AG52 and OR4109.



Handling Process

Replicate the issue with customer in midnight.  After the link cut from AG52 to OR4109, the BGP session timed out from RR

Try to ping from cisco RR to Cisco MWR2942, it timed out.Tracert from RR to Cisco MWR2942, the last hop is Huawei AG51.

Check routing table of MWR router and AG52, all the routes are OK.

Raised to Cisco support, it is confirm that Cisco MWR2942 doesn't support tracert function on this version.

Go to site and insert a switch between OR4102-1 and OR4102-2, the ping packet reachs to the switch from the packet capture.

Request customer to reboot cisco MRW2942-1,the issue resolved.

Root Cause
Cisco  MWR 2942 issue with forwarding plane.

Reboot cisco MWR2942-1

Check forwarding plane if control plane is OK.
