Incorrect ATS parameter setting deduce to ECC500 can't work normally

Issue Description

【Problem Summary】dual DG scenario, DG cannot start and stop automaticaly in test mode
【Problem Details】in XXX site we have installed DCB solution (ICC900-HD2) 2 battery bank. Battery capacity: 490Ah when we do DG test one DG start and shut down then alarm come (DG on result fail) another DG not starting, it cannot test both DG, so we could not start and stop automatically the DGs.

Handling Process

According to site phenomenon, check as below:

1.check whether DG can work normally without any ECC500 control, and found DG can start normally on manual mode

2.check the DG start signal cable connection, found this cable connect firmly and correctly.

3.Check the alarm information on ECC500, found there is "Mains fail" alarm.

For this site, as described, the work mode was dual DG with no Mains input, so preliminary judge that this problem may caused by the ATS parameter setting.

Root Cause

As analyze above, frontline engineer check the ATS parameter setting on ECC500, when he check found that ATS work scenario set with Mains+DG, so ECC500 consider this system work with mains+DG scenario, when DG start, it consider it as Mains input, according to work logic, ECC500 will stop DG, so the self test will be fail.


According to the parameter checking, on ATS menu, frontline set it with the Mains+DG, so when in the DG self checking status, if the ECC start the DG, and there is AC input, but ECC consider it as Mains input, so will stop the DG, then the test will fail. so need to modify the scenario with the DG+DG Resolution Detail:On the ECC500 ATS menu, modify the scenario with DG+DG, and connect the DG2 AC input to ATS DG2 breaker, then this system will work normally, and can be test successfully.// Risk of Solution:Non-Risk Operation
