The user cannot log in to the management Web page of the RH2285 server and the network port cannot be pinged through.
Step 1 Check whether network port data indicator and data indicator are normal. If yes, reinsert or replace the network cable.
Step 2 Directly connect the PC to the server management network port using a network cable. Check whether the IP address of the management network port is correct and can be pinged through.
Step 3 On the management terminal, ping other servers on the same network segment. If the servers can be pinged through, the network is normal.
Step 4 Check the configuration of the switch connected to the server management network port. If the configuration is correct, replace the switch port. If the fault persists, the switch is normal.
Step 5 Use the ifconfig and ethtool commands to check whether error packet statistics exist on the server management port. If everything is normal, ping the gateway and other servers on the same network segment from the management network port. If they can be pinged through but the management terminal cannot be pinged through, it is suspected that the server management network port is faulty. Check the network port information. It is found that the IP address, mask, and gateway are all correct, but the broadcast address is incorrect. The broadcast address should be A.B.C.255 rather than A.255.255.255. Restart the server and re-set the IP address. Verify that the IP address and broadcast address are correct. The fault is rectified.
