Incorrectly Displayed Device Figure in the Function Pane

Issue Description

In the ISM, storage devices can be successfully recognized; however, when clicking the Device Figure tab in the function pane, certain parts cannot be properly displayed in the device figure.

Product and version information:
  • S2600
  • S5000 series
  • The version of the JRE installed on the maintenance terminal is 1.6.0 and above

Handling Process
  1. Access the OS of the maintenance terminal in CLI mode.



    The procedure below takes JRE 1.6.0 as an example. If you need to perform the procedure in other versions of JRE, please refer to the corresponding command set.


  2. Run the command javaws -viewer to open the Java Cache Viewer dialog box.
  3. In the Java Cache Viewer dialog box, select the existing ISM installed on the maintenance terminal, and uninstall it in either of the following ways:


    • Click Remove selected items on the toolbar.
    • Right-click the selected item, and select Delete from the displayed shortcut menu.


  4. Type the IP address of the management network port in the address bar of a browser, to download and install the latest version of ISM.
Root Cause
  1. Open the Task Management dialog box in either of the following ways:
    • Choose Configuration > Task Management.
    • Click Task Management that is located in the middle of the status bar on the main page of the ISM.
  2. In the Task Management dialog box, it is found that the message Current ISM version is different from device ISM version. appears in Task Description, as shown in Figure 1.

  • The versions of ISM installed on the maintenance terminal and the storage device are inconsistent, causing the device figure fail to be correctly displayed in the function pane of the main page in the ISM.
