Common G.SHDSL Interface Interconnection Faults

Issue Description
The G.SHDSL interface cannot be activated for a long time or alternates between Up and Down.

Handling Process
1.  Check whether the ADSL/VDSL splitter is used on the G.SHDSL line.

2.  Check whether the G.SHDSL cable is the matching one.
Figure 1 shows the matching cables of the AR.

3.  If the fault is not rectified, run the following command to configure the compatibility mode of the G.SHDSL uplink interface:

[Huawei-Atm0/0/0]shdsl capability g-shdsl.bis
[Huawei-Atm0/0/0]shdsl compatibility pmms normal vendor gs enhanced filter normal
[Huawei-Atm0/0/0]undo shutdown

If the fault persists, run the following command:

[Huawei-Atm0/0/0]shdsl compatibility pmms long vendornormal filter normal
[Huawei-Atm0/0/0]undo shutdown

4.  Leave the G.SHDSL line far away form the electromagnetic interference sources.

Performing the preceding operations can solve most interconnection problems of the G.SHDSL interface.

Root Cause
The ADSL/VDSL splitter is used on the G.SHDSL line.

The G.SHDSL cable is not the matching one.

The DSLAM connected to the AR uses an old G.SHDSL chip.

There are electromagnetic interference sources such as electric motors, transformers, and electric generator along the G.SHDSL line.
