Protocol Flapping Occurs When the CPOS Card of the AR Is Interconnected

Issue Description

Fault Symptom:
PPP is configured on the CPOS card of the AR. When 64 member interfaces of two ends are bound to an MP group, protocol flapping occurs frequently.

Handling Process
The number of bound member interfaces exceeds the maximum value. By default, a maximum of 32 PPP links can be bound in an MP link.

If more than 32 member interfaces are added to an MP group, member interfaces that cannot be bound will go Down. These member interfaces then perform LCP renegotiation and attempt to be bound to the MP group. The unbound member interfaces alternate between Up and Down states frequently.

Run the ppp mp max-bind 32 command to bind 32 member interfaces to an MP group. Protocol flapping is removed and the fault is rectified.

After running the ppp mp max-bind command, run the shutdown and undo shutdown or restart commands to restart all the member interfaces to make the configuration take effect.

Generally, the maximum number of links in an MP group does not need to be set because PPP performance may deteriorate after the ppp mp max-bind command is used. Use the ppp mp max-bind command under the instruction of Huawei technical support personnel.
