Wrong Number Announcement Played When an Analog Phone User Dials an Outer-Office Number

Publication Date:  2015-07-24 Views:  489 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Version: eSpace U1930 V100R001C01SPC400

Network: MTG300----(PRI)----U1930----(SIP)----UA5000----analog phone

Fault description: The T1 trunk works correctly, the outgoing call prefix is 9, the minimum number length is 0, and the maximum number length is 16. The IP phone can be used to make intra-office and outer-office calls successfully. However, when the analog phone is used to dial an outer-office number, for example, 9+5144196478, a wrong number announcement is played immediately when the first two numbers 9 and 5 are dialed.
Handling Process
Step 1 Check the logs and find that the called number is 95. This indicates that only two digits of the number dialed by the analog phone are collected.

Step 2 Set the minimum number length of the outgoing prefix to be the same as the valid digits of the called number.

Step 3 Use the analog phone to dial the outer-office number again. The call is connected successfully. The fault is rectified.

Root Cause
When the analog phone is used to dial a number, the trunk collects the number digit by digit. The eSpace U1930 sends an info message to the carrier side and notifies the peer device of unfinished digit collection. However, the peer device does not support number collection digit by digit.
