Context

Because different customers require different QoS, CFM provides different CCM intervals to meet the requirements. If a MEP receives no CCMs from an RMEP within three consecutive intervals for sending CCMs, a connectivity fault between the MEP and RMEP occurs.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run cfm md md-name

    The MD view is displayed.

  3. Run ma ma-name

    The MA view is displayed.

  4. Run ccm-interval interval

    The interval for a MEP to send or detect CCMs in an MA is set.

    By default, a MEP sends or detects CCMs every 1 second.

    All the MEPs in an MA must send or detect CCMs at the same interval.

    The interval at which CCMs are sent or received cannot be modified on the device in an MA if one of the following operations is performed:

    • The device is enabled to send CCMs using the mep ccm-send enable command.

    • The device is enabled to receive CCMs using the remote-mep ccm-receive enable command.

    The undo mep ccm-send enable or undo mep ccm-receive enable command must be run before the interval is reconfigured.

  5. Run mep mep-id mep-id interface interface-type interface-number { outward | inward }

    The MEP is created.

  6. Run mep ccm-send [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

    The MEP is enabled to send CCMs.

    By default, a MEP is disabled from sending CCMs.

    If mep-id mep-id is not specified, all the MEPs in the MA are enabled to send CCMs.

  7. Run remote-mep ccm-receive [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

    The MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from the RMEP in the same MA.

    By default, a MEP is disabled from receiving CCMs from an RMEP.

    When a MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from an RMEP and a connectivity fault is detected between the local MEP and the RMEP using CC, the MEP generates an alarm.

    If mep-id mep-id is not specified, the MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from all the RMEPs in the same MA.

Follow-up Procedure

  • To enable continuity check in multiple MAs, repeat step 3 to step 6.

  • To enable continuity check in multiple MDs, repeat step 2 to step 6.
