Please do not submit or provide any personal data in the HiKnow App (referred to as "App") before you read and understand the HiKnow App Privacy Policy (referred to as "Policy"). This Policy is applicable to all Huawei websites, products, and services that provide this Policy or a link to this Policy.

This Policy explains how Huawei processes your personal data, but may not cover all operations related to personal data. For example, this Policy does not explain how Huawei collects product- or service-specific data. This information will be added in an updated Policy version, or sent to you in a notice before Huawei collects this data.

1 How Huawei Collects & Uses Your Personal Data

Personal data refers to any information that can be used independently or combined with other information to identify an individual. When you use the App, we will collect your personal data, including the login information (account and password), name, email address, phone number, company name, job position, profile picture, nickname, signature, tag, contact address, country/region, e-signature, location, IP address, ID number, AAID, push token, and access behavior data. Huawei will collect and use your personal data only for the purposes stated in this Policy. The following examples describe how we collect and use personal data in specific scenarios.

1.1 Login

When you log in to the App using the account registered with the Huawei Enterprise Support website, the App obtains your personal data from the website and displays the information, including your name, email address,phone number, company name, and Huawei certificate information.

1.2 Feedback

When you leave your feedback on using the App, the App will collect your email address so that we can get back to you promptly.

1.3 Forums and Mall

When you visit the forums and the mall, we will collect and display your personal data, including yourprofile picture, nickname, account, user signature, user tag, email address, company name, and department. When you post text and images in the forums, the App will, with your consent, invoke the camera or access images stored in your phone and upload them. The images will be saved on our servers so that you can view these images on different devices.

1.4 Barcode Scanning

When you use the scanning function and want to send the scanning result to a specified email address, we will collect the email address for sending the result as you required.

1.5 Software Requests

After you submit a software request on the website, you can view the progress on the App. The software request screen of the App will display your account, name, phone number, email address, company name, job position, etc.

1.6 eISDP

When you use eISDP to deliver services, we will collect your account, name, job position, phone number, email address, location, as well as customer information, including the name and delivery address, so that you can view delivery details on the App.

When you use the attendance function, we will, with your consent, collect your location. This function relies on the positioning service of your phone operating system, which sends device information such as IMEI to a third-party map service provider based on your location.

1.7 Service Request, Spare Parts, and On-site Support

When you use the Service Requests function, we will collect your or the beneficiary’s information, including the name, phone number, email address, contact address, and company name for follow-up communication about the reported fault.

When you use the Spare Part Requests function, we will collect your delivery address, post code, recipient name, email address, and phone number for receiving and returning spare parts.

When you use the On-site Support function, we will collect information about the customer field contact, including the name, phone number, mailing address, email address, and electronic signature for follow-up communication between engineers and the contact and for the contact to confirm the field service. When engineers use the attendance function, your location will be collected using the positioning service of the phone operating system. This function relies on the positioning service of your phone operating system, which sends device information such as IMEI to a third-party map service provider based on your location. In addition, as required by some Chinese customers, engineers need to provide their ID card numbers when applying for entering the site during the work order period. ID card numbers are sensitive personal data and will be deleted after the work order is closed

If the data you enter contains the personal information of a third party, please inform the third party of the following and obtain their consent or authorization. The data will be used for the purpose of Huawei's provision of related services to you, and stored on the servers of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei) and its affiliates. It may be transferred to the third party's country/region or to locations separate from those where Huawei collects the information, and will be accessed, stored, and processed in the aforesaid locations.

1.8 Fault Locating

If exceptions occur when you use the App, the exception logs will be uploaded to Huawei servers when you restart the App, helping us improve service. Exception logs contain the crash content, crash time, App version, phone model, and operating system of the mobile phone. You can enable or disable exception log sending by touching Me > Settings and turning off the Send exception logs feature (the feature is turned off by default).

1.9 Statistics

To continuously improve our product design, we will collect statistics on the usage of each function in the App by means of collecting your device unique identifier (which can be reset by reinstalling the App), account, and IP address.

1.10 Product Registration

When you register products in the App, we will collect your account, name, area, email address, and company name for managing product information. The collected data is saved on our servers to ensure that the product registration information is complete.

1.11 Product License Activation

To activate your product license, we will collect your email address so that we can send the activated license file to you.

1.12 Notifications

When you enable notifications (only available for Huawei and Honor phones), we will collect your AAID and push token that are necessary to push messages.

1.13 Access Behavior Data

We will collect your account, IP address, and access behavior data (such as the operating system, browser version, time zone, country, access start time, access end time, accessed URL, and access duration). This kind of data is used to analyze operations and optimize IT systems, for example, counting PVs and UVs, as well as improving page performance.

1.14 Sharing

When you use the sharing function, we will obtain a list of software that supports this sharing on your device and display it in a dialog box at the bottom for you to select. However, we will not record the list or your selection.

1.15 Collection and Use of Non-Identifiable Data

Non-identifiable data refers to data that cannot be used to identify an individual. For example, Huawei may collect statistics about page access, such as the accessed pages and given responses. Huawei collects this data to understand how people use its website, products and services. This allows Huawei to improve its services to better satisfy customer needs. Huawei may, at its own discretion, collect, use, process, transfer or disclose non-identifiable data for other purposes.

We endeavor to keep your personal data and non-identifiable data separate, and use each independently. If personal data is combined with non-identifiable data, it will be treated as personal data.

2 How Huawei Uses Cookies & Similar Technologies

To ensure that our websites function properly, we sometimes store small data files known as cookies on computers or mobile devices. A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a web server. Only the server that creates the cookie can retrieve or read the cookie's contents. Each cookie is unique to your web browser or mobile application. Cookies usually contain an identifier, the site name and some numbers and characters. Cookies allow websites to store data, such as your user preferences.

Most large websites or Internet service providers enable cookies in order to improve their user experience. Cookies allow websites to remember users, either for a single visit (using a session cookie) or for repeated visits (using a persistent cookie). Cookies allow websites to store settings, such as language, font size and other viewing preferences for your computers or mobile devices. This means that user preferences do not need to be re-configured on each visit. If a website does not use cookies, it will treat its users as new visitors each time they open a page. For example, if you log in on a website and move to another page, the website will not recognize you, and you will be logged out again.

Huawei does not use cookies for any purposes other than those specified in this Policy. You can manage or delete cookies according to your preferences. For more information, see AboutCookies.org. You can clear all cookies stored on your computer and most web browsers can be configured to block cookies. However, if you do so, you may have to manually change your user settings every time you visit our websites.

Huawei will not use cookies to collect personal data for any purposes other than those specified in this Policy. The App cannot be used properly if your cookies fail to be read.

3 How Huawei Discloses Your Personal Data

Huawei does not sell your personal data to third parties. However, Huawei may disclose your personal data under the following circumstances:

3.1 Disclosures with Explicit Consent

After obtaining your explicit approval, Huawei may share your personal data with other parties.

3.2 Disclosures to Huawei Affiliates

Your personal data may be shared with Huawei's affiliates. As a matter of policy, we will only disclose data that is necessary.

3.3 Disclosures to Authorized Partners ("Our Partners")

Some Huawei services are provided by our Partners. Huawei may share some of your personal data with its Partners to offer better customer service and an improved user experience. For example, when you purchase Huawei products online, Huawei must share your personal data with logistics providers to schedule a delivery, or arrange for Partners to provide services. Your personal data may only be processed for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes, and only the data that is necessary to offer a service shall be disclosed. Huawei subsidiaries or Partners are not authorized to use shared personal data for any other purposes.

3.4 Disclosures on Legal or Reasonable Grounds

Huawei may disclose your personal data if required by the law, legal proceedings, litigation or public and governmental authorities. In some jurisdictions, your personal data may also be disclosed to transaction parties if Huawei is involved in a reorganization, merger or insolvency and liquidation proceedings. Huawei may also disclose your data where reasonable need can be demonstrated, such as to enforce its terms and conditions and to protect its customers.

3.5 Others

Third-party service providers may collect your personal information through the website or their SDKs when you are using the third-party services on this Platform. Please read and comply with the aforementioned third-party user agreement and privacy policy in such cases.

When you share to WeChat, your device and network information may be collected by WeChat.

4 How Huawei Protects Your Personal Data‎

The security of your personal data is important to us. We use appropriate physical, management, and technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies for data confidentiality, protection mechanisms to prevent attacks, and access control mechanisms to permit only authorized access to your personal data. We also provide training on security and privacy protection for employees to raise their awareness of personal data protection. Huawei is committed to protecting your personal data; however, please note that no security measure is perfect.

5 How Huawei Saves Your Personal Data

We will retain your personal data within the period for the business purpose. The storage period varies with scenarios, products, and services. For example:

Account information: If you want to use the services provided by the App, including feedback, forums, and software requests, we will retain your registration information when necessary. If you deregister your account, we will stop providing products and services regarding this account and delete your personal data unless otherwise stipulated by special legal requirements.

Fault locating: If you enable the function of sending exception logs, the logs uploaded by the App will be deleted within six months after the fault analysis is complete.

Notifications: If you enable this function, data such as the AAID and push token will be deleted six months after the function is disabled or this device is no longer used.

Data statistics: When we collect statistics on the usages of each function in the App, your account will be anonymized. Other data, including the IP address, will be stored for three years.

If we discontinue our products or services, we will notify you in the form of a push notification, announcement, etc., and delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period.

6 How to Access & Control Your Personal Data

Under Huawei's terms and conditions, you can manage your personal data, such as your account information, at any time. You should ensure that all personal data submitted is accurate. Huawei will make reasonable efforts to keep your personal data accurate, complete and up-to-date.

As stipulated by applicable laws, you are entitled to (1) access your specific personal data we collected; (2) request us to update or correct your personal data; (3) refuse or restrict us from using your personal data, and (4) request us to delete your personal data. If you would like to access or update your personal data, please visit https://www.huawei.com. If you would like to delete your personal data stored on our App servers, please send your request to e.support@huawei.com and we will delete your personal data as required promptly. For security reasons, we may require you to submit a request in writing. If we have reasonable evidence to believe that your request is deceptive, harming others' privacy, or cannot be fulfilled due to other reasons, we will refuse your request.

You are also entitled to withdraw your consent on processing your personal data by us at any time, but the withdrawal does not affect the validity of our processing of your personal data prior to the withdrawal, nor affect our subsequent processing of it according to other applicable regulations.

7 How We Process Children’s Personal Data

Our websites, products and services are primarily intended for adults. A child must not create a Huawei account without the consent of a parent or guardian. If a child’s personal data is collected with prior parental consent, we will only use or disclose the data as permitted by law, with the explicit consent of the child’s parents or guardians, or when necessary for the protection of the child. If we accidentally collect a child’s personal data without verified prior consent from the child’s parents, we will attempt to delete the data as soon as possible.

8 Huawei's Third-Party Service Providers

This App provides you with the sharing function. You choose whether to share texts, images, and web pages to Facebook, Twitter, WeChat friends, and WeChat Moments. Before submitting personal information to Facebook, Twitter, WeChat friends, or WeChat Moments, please read the corresponding privacy policies.

Besides, you may be served content or web links from third parties external to Huawei and our Partners ("Third Parties") for a smooth browsing experience. Huawei does not have control over such Third Parties. You can choose whether to access links, content, products and services offered by Third Parties. Huawei has no control over the privacy and data protection policies of Third Parties, which are not governed by this Policy. Before submitting your personal information to Third Parties, please refer to their respective privacy protection policies.

9 International Transfers of Your Personal Data

The App provides services for global users and servers are deployed in multiple countries. Your personal data will be transmitted and stored on servers in China in compliance with local data protection laws. Huawei will take measures to ensure that data is processed as required by this Policy and applicable laws, which includes when transferring the data subject’s personal data from the EU to a country or region which have been acknowledged by the EU commission as having an adequate level of data protection, we may use a variety of legal mechanisms, such as signing standard contractual clauses approved by the EU Commission, obtaining the consent to the cross-border transfer of a data subject in the EU, or implementing security measures like anonymizing personal data before cross-border data transfer. 10 Policy Updates

The Privacy Policy may be modified or updated from time to time. The App will notify you of the modification and updates by noticeable and applicable channels and means.
