 In scenarios with interference from neighboring cells or other systems, IRC can estimate the correlation of interfering signals in the time and space. Based on the maximum signal-to-noise ratio rule and the correlation of interfering signals, IRC effectively suppresses interference, thereby increasing cell throughput by 5% to 15%.

 

Documentation description

 The following two figure show you whats the Interference Rejection Combining.

 First IRC can estimate the correlation of interfering signals. The higher the correlation, the narrower the image.

 

Then if the correlation of interfering signals is significant, IRC is used to reduce interference, thereby increasing cell throughput.
