Configuring Dynamic Domain Name Resolution

When the Eudemon accesses other application servers through domain names, you need to enable the domain name resolution service and configure the DNS server.

Procedure

  1. In the Menu navigation tree, choose System > Network.
  2. Click the DNS tab.
  3. In DNS Configuration, enable the domain name resolution service. Figure 1 shows the interface that is displayed. For the description of parameter, see Table 1.

    Domain Name Resolution Service

    Parameter meaning:

    Indicates the enabling or disabling of the domain name resolution service. The domain name resolution service takes effect only after the option is selected.

    Relation with other parameters:

    After the domain name resolution service is enabled, the IP address of the DNS server should be set, so that the domain name can be resolved.

    Parameter value:

    By default, the domain name resolution service is disabled.

    Setting method:

    Select/Deselect the corresponding check box, then clickApply.

  4. Click Apply.
  5. In DNS Server List, set the IP address of the DNS server. Figure 2 shows the interface that is displayed. For the description of parameter, see Table 2. If the IP addresses of multiple DNS servers should be configured, you need to repeat this step.

    Indicates the IP address of the DNS server.

    Parameter value:

    It is in dotted decimal notation.

    Principle for value selection:

    The device supports the IP addresses of a maximum of six DNS servers.

    Setting method:

    Enter the IP address of the DNS server in the text box. Then, click .

  6. In Default Domain List, configure the default domain name. Figure 3 shows the interface that is displayed. For the description of parameter, see Table 3. If the multiple default domain names should be configured, you need to repeat this step.

    Parameter meaning:

    Indicates the name of the default domain.

    Parameter value:

    It is a string of 1 to 30 characters. By default, the device does not have a default domain name.

    Principle for value selection:

    The device supports a maximum of 10 default domain names.

    Setting method:

    Enter the name of the default domain in the text box.
