The high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) Expansion 1, 4M-8M feature enables subscribers to enjoy new services and fast download speeds. This feature enables the SGSN to support a maximum downlink rate of 8 Mbit/s.

Replaces subscribed QoS parameters with configured ones, and then negotiates with the GGSN and RNC using the configured QoS parameters.

RNC

Transmits data for the UE according to the negotiated QoS parameters.

GGSN

  • Works with the SGSN to complete the QoS negotiation.
  • Transmits data for the UE according to the negotiated QoS parameters.

SGSN

  • Negotiates QoS parameters for the UE according to the UE request, subscription data, and license information, and informs the NEs involved of the negotiated QoS parameters.
  • Transmits data for the UE according to the negotiated QoS parameters.

HLR

Configures subscribed QoS parameters.
