What Can I Do If the Connection Using a Projection Code Fails?

What Can I Do If the Connection Using a Projection Code Fails?

If the error message shown in Figure 9-9 is displayed when a user attempts to connect an AirPresence client to an endpoint using a projection code, locate and rectify the fault according to Table 9-1. Here, the AirPresence PC client is used as an example.

Possible Cause

Solution

The projection code entered is incorrect.

Ensure that the projection code entered on the AirPresence client is the same as that displayed on the endpoint's user interface.

The AirPresence client is not located in the same network as the endpoint.

Connect the PC or mobile device that has the AirPresence client installed to the same network as the endpoint.

The projection code server is incorrectly configured for the AirPresence client.

Configure the projection code server by following the instructions in Configuring the Projection Code Server.

Configuring the Projection Code Server

There are two types of projection codes: projection code locally generated by the endpoint and projection code generated by the projection code server. Table 9-2 lists the differences between the two types of projection codes.

To connect the endpoint to the projection code server, set the required projection code server parameters on the AirPresence client as follows:

The endpoint can connect to the projection code server in any of the following ways:

  • The endpoint successfully registers with the GK server, and the SMC provisions the projection code server settings to the endpoint.
  • The endpoint successfully registers with the SIP server, and the MediaX provisions the projection code server settings to the endpoint.
  • The projection code server settings can be manually defined under System Settings > Network > Address Book on the endpoint's web interface.
  1. Click in the upper right corner of the AirPresence PC client and choose Server.
  2. Enter the address and port number of the projection code server (obtained from the administrator) and click Save.
