How Do I Restore Factory Settings? What Are the Default IP Address and User Password After the Restoration?

You can restore the factory settings of the device through the CLI, web system, or by pressing and holding the RESET or RST button. After factory settings are restored, you can use the default management IP address 192.168.1.1/24 to log in to the device.

  • Restore factory settings through the CLI.

    1. Run the reset saved-configuration command to clear the configuration file for the next startup and delete the configuration file used in the next startup so that the default settings are restored.

    2. Run the factory-configuration reset command to restore the factory settings after the device restarts. Run the reboot fast command to restart the system.
  • Restore factory settings through the web system.

    1. Choose Maintenance > System Management > Configuration File Management.

    2. Click Restore Factory Settings.

    3. In the displayed Confirm dialog box, click OK.

      The system then restarts the device and clears the current configurations.

  • Restore factory settings by pressing and holding the RESET or RST button.

    If a device supports the RESET or RST button, you can press and hold the RESET or RST button for more than 5 seconds to restore the latest factory settings after the device restarts. To restore the device to factory settings, run the set factory-configuration from default command in the system view. Exercise caution.
