Configuring the Clock Link Mode for a Stack Member Port in a Stack

Configuring the Clock Link Mode for a Stack Member Port in a Stack

Prerequisites

A stack has been established.

Context

To ensure clock or time synchronization between member switches in a stack, you must set the clock link mode of stack member ports to the interlink mode.

In a stack, after the clock link mode of stack member ports is set to the interlink mode, you still need to finish the subsequent synchronous Ethernet configuration, which is the same as the synchronous Ethernet configuration of a standalone switch.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

The interface view corresponding to a stack member port is displayed.

  3. Run clock link-mode interlink

The clock link mode is set to the interlink mode on the stack member port.

    • The clock link mode of stack member ports on each stack member switch must be set to the interlink mode.
    • Each chassis can have no more than two stack member ports configured as interlink ports. Clock source or other clock configuration commands cannot be configured on interlink ports.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
