Connecting to a WAN Through PPPoE Dial-up
Networking Requirements
Users need to connect to a WAN through PPPoE dial-up. In Figure 1-479, the router used as a PPPoE client obtains an IP address after being authenticated by the PPPoE server, and then it can connect to the Internet. The internal network gateway IP address, namely, the IP address of VLANIF 1, is 10.137.32.1/24.
Procedure
- Click Configuration on the toolbar to access the Configuration page. In the navigation tree on the left, click Configuration Wizard and click Internet Access Wizard to access the Internet Access Wizard page, as shown in Figure2.
- Click Configuration on the toolbar to access the Configuration page. In the navigation tree on the left, click WAN Configuration to access the WAN Configuration page, as shown in Figure 1-481.
- Click WAN Configuration, select Ethernet Interface, and set other parameters, as shown in Figure4.
- Click OK to complete the configuration.
- In the navigation tree on the left, click LAN Configuration to access the LAN Configuration page, as shown in Figure 1-483.
- Click LAN(Local Area Network) to access the LAN page. Configure the default gateway IP address and subnet mask of the host, as shown in Figure 1-484.
The configured default gateway IP address is the IP address of VLANIF 1.
- Click Apply to complete the configuration.
- Check the configuration.
After the configuration is completed, internal users can access the Internet through the router.
