Fat AP and Cloud AP V200R022C10 Web-based Configuration Guide
Example for Configuring Wi-Fi Internet Access Through a Leader AP in Bridge Mode (Using the Mobile App)
Prerequisites
WLAN network planning and design have been completed.
APs have been connected and powered on.
The CloudCampus APP of the latest version has been installed on a mobile phone.
Among the installed APs, one AP needs to be selected as the leader AP to manage the Wi-Fi network. The mobile app automatically scans APs and connects to the AP with the strongest signal. The closer the AP is to the mobile phone, the stronger the signal is. In this case, hold the mobile phone close to the AP to be configured, and then use the mobile app to start the configuration.
Context
As shown in Figure 2-14, the optical modem functions as the gateway to connect to the Internet. The switch is a Layer 2 switch that supports PoE+ power supply and connects to APs. One AP is selected as the leader AP to manage other Fit APs in a unified manner and build a WLAN. The leader AP is set to the bridge mode so that users' Internet access traffic is transparently transmitted to the optical modem.
Procedure
- Open the CloudCampus APP on the mobile phone and touch Local management network to configure the Wi-Fi network.
- Check whether the cable connection is correct according to the networking diagram.
If the switch has a WAN port (uplink), connect the WAN port to the LAN port of the optical modem. If the switch does not have a WAN port, connect any LAN port to the LAN port of the optical modem.
- The mobile phone automatically scans for nearby APs and connects to the AP with the strongest signal strength. You need to set the login password when connecting to the AP for the first time. The password is used to log in to the AP for configuration and management. Keep the password secure. The user name for logging in to the AP is automatically set to admin.
- Select an Internet access mode. The APP automatically detects the network access mode based on the current networking environment. The DHCP mode indicates the bridge mode.
If the AP cannot obtain an IP address through DHCP, the APP automatically selects the PPPoE mode. In this case, check the network to ensure that the AP can obtain an IP address normally.
- Select a proper tag for the current network. Set the SSID name for the Wi-Fi network. By default, the Wi-Fi password is the same as the password for logging in to the AP.
If multiple networks need to be managed on the APP, the tag can help you easily distinguish different networks, for example, Company and Store.
- Submit the configuration and wait until the configuration is complete.
The initial configuration takes a long time. Do not exit this screen before the configuration is complete. Otherwise, the configuration may be interrupted. After the configuration is complete, your phone automatically connects to the configured Wi-Fi network and can access the Internet.
If the phone does not automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network, manually connect to the Wi-Fi network in the Wi-Fi settings on the phone.
After the configuration is complete, you can find the configured Wi-Fi network card. Touch the card to access the network management page, where online APs are displayed. If multiple networks are configured and managed, multiple network cards are displayed on this page.
