TaiShan Server Environmental Requirements for Operation 01
Grounding Requirements for Signal Cables
- A shielded cable or a cable with a metal jacket is recommended for the signal cable that is routed in to or out from a site.
The shielded layer, metal jacket, or metal tube of the cable that is routed in to a site must be connected to the nearest protection ground bar in the equipment room.
- Both ends of the shield layer of a shielded cable should have good electrical contact with the metal shell of the connected device.
- The grounding of the outer conductor of the coaxial cable on the digital distribution frame (DDF) should meet customer requirements.
The DDF should be grounded. The DDF and the communication device in the same equipment room should share a protection ground bar.
- For the signal cables that are routed in to or out from a site, the idle wire pairs should be grounded in the equipment room.
- For the optical cables that are routed in to or out from a site, the metal reinforcing ribs should be grounded to the optical distribution frame (ODF) or fiber melt tray in the equipment room.
