Distributed PV Plants Connecting to NetEco 1000S Smart PV Management System User Manual (Commercial Inverters + SmartLogger1000A)
This document describes how to connect the commercial inverter to Huawei NetEco 1000S Smart PV Management System by using the distributed SmartLogger1000A.
This document describes how to connect the commercial inverter to Huawei NetEco 1000S Smart PV Management System by using the distributed SmartLogger1000A.
Setting SmartLogger Parameters (WebUI)
Enter https://XX.XX.XX.XX (SmartLogger IP address) in the address box of a browser, log in to the WebUI as Advanced User or Special User, and configure the SmartLogger as instructed by Deployment Wizard. This section is only for check and supplement.
- Set corresponding parameters as prompted. For details, see Help on the page.
- The initial password for Advanced User and Special User to log in to the WebUI is Changeme. Use the initial password upon first power-on and change it immediately after login. To ensure account security, change the password periodically and keep the new password in mind. Not changing the initial password may cause password disclosure. A password left unchanged for a long period of time may be stolen or cracked. If a password is lost, devices cannot be accessed. In these cases, the user is liable for any loss caused to the PV plant.
Prerequisites
- The SmartLogger and PC have been connected to the network device using Ethernet cables, or the SmartLogger has been connected to a PC using an Ethernet cable.
- The IP address of the PC has been changed and is in the same network segment as the SmartLogger (default IP address: 192.168.0.10).
Procedure
- Enter https://XX.XX.XX.XX (SmartLogger IP address) in the address box of a browser, and log in to the WebUI as Advanced User.Figure 4-9 Logging in to the WebUI
NOTE:
If WebUI cannot be accessed, specify security settings for the browser. For details, see the SmartLogger1000A User Manual.
- Set RS485 communications parameters (RS485-N corresponds to COM port N on the SmartLogger).Figure 4-10 Setting RS485 communications parameters
Parameter
Description
Protocol
Set this parameter based on the protocol of the connected device. Set this parameter to Modbus when connecting to the inverter.
Baud rate
Set this parameter based on the baud rate of the connected device.
Parity
Set this parameter based on the parity of the connected device.
Stop Bit
Set this parameter based on the stop bit of the connected device. Retain the default value 1 when connecting to the inverter.
Start address
Retain the default value 1.
End address
Retain the default value 247.
- Add communications devices connected to the SmartLogger.
- Click Auto. Search or Add Devices.
- If not all devices are detected due to duplicate communication addresses, click Auto Assign Address to assign and adjust the addresses as prompted.

Description
Monthly traffic package
Set this parameter based on the SIM card package.
Network mode
Set this parameter based on the SIM card network mode.
APN mode
The default value is Automatic. If the Automatic mode cannot be used to access the Internet, set this parameter to Manual.
Authentication type
When APN mode is set to Manual, set the parameters related to the SIM card with the information obtained from the carrier.
APN
APN dialup number
APN user name
APN user password
- Method 2: When the SmartLogger connects to the management system over a wired network, set the wired network parameters.
Figure 4-13 Setting wired network parametersParameter
Description
IP address
Set this parameter based on the PV plant.
NOTE:If the IP address is changed, log in to the system with the new IP address.
Subnet mask
Set this parameter based on the actual subnet mask of the LAN where the SmartLogger is located.
Default gateway
Set this parameter based on the actual gateway of the LAN where the SmartLogger is located.
Primary DNS server
You can ignore this parameter when connecting to the LAN.
Set this parameter to the IP address of the LAN router when connecting to a public network (for example, in the scenarios of connecting to Huawei Hosting Cloud Center, an email box, or a third-party FTP, the IP address of the server is set to the domain name).
Secondary DNS server
In normal cases, you can ignore this parameter.
If the primary DNS server cannot resolve the domain name, the secondary DNS server is used.
- Set server parameters for the management system.Figure 4-14 Setting management system parameters
Parameter
Description
Server
Set this parameter to the IP address or domain name of the management system.
Port
Set this parameter to the port number of the management system to which the SmartLogger connects over a network protocol.
Address mode
Communication address and Logical address are supported.
If the communication address of the device connected to the SmartLogger is unique, you are advised to select Communication address. Otherwise, select Logical address.
SSL encryption
Retain the default value Enable.
NOTE:If this parameter is set to Disable, the data exchange between the SmartLogger and the management system is not encrypted, which poses security risks.
Second challenge authentication
Set this parameter to Enable.
Security Certificate
Optional. This item is used only when the certificate expires or the customer needs to use the self-owned certificate.
