Memory Config

Memory Config

This section describes system parameters and function control on the Memory Config screen.

Figure 5-6 shows the Memory Config screen. Table 5-3 describes the parameters.

When the BBU is in position, modifying parameters on the Memory Config screen will cause data loss in the battery-protected memory.

RMT pattern length is configurable when a margin test (on the memory timings and voltage signals) is enabled. The value ranges from 1 to 32767.

NOTE:

This parameter is displayed when Rank Margin Tool is set to Enabled.

1

Per Byte Margining

The parameter is configurable when the Margin test (which tests the memory timings and voltage signals) is enabled, and it determines the margin test granularity (per byte). The options are as follows:

  • Enabled
  • Disabled
    NOTE:

This parameter is displayed when Rank Margin Tool is set to Enabled.

Disabled

Per Bit Margining

The parameter is configurable when the Margin test (which tests the memory timings and voltage signals) is enabled, and it determines the margin test granularity (per rank or per bit). The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable
NOTE:

This parameter is displayed when Rank Margin Tool is set to Enable.

Disable

CA Margin

Indicates whether a command line/address line margin test is performed. The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable
NOTE:

This parameter is displayed when Rank Margin Tool is set to Enable.

Disable

Die Interleaving

Determines whether to enable DIE interleaving. When the DIE interleaving is enabled, the DDR bandwidth can be fully used and the bandwidth of each DDR channel can be balanced to improve the DDR usage efficiency. The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable

Disable

Channel Interleaving

Determines whether memory channels can be interconnected with each other.

Enable

Channel Interleaving 3Way

Determines whether three memory channels can be interconnected with each other. The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable

Enable

Rank Interleaving

Sets the rank interleaving mode. The options are as follows:

  • 1-way Interleave
  • 2-way Interleave
  • 4-way Interleave

4-way Interleave

NUMA

Determines whether the non-uniform memory access (NUMA) can be enabled. The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable

Enable

Skt Interleaving

Enables or disables the cross-CPU interleaving function. After this function is enabled, memory resources can be evenly allocated among CPUs to resolve bandwidth and latency issues. The options are as follows:

  • Disable
  • Enable
NOTE:
  • This parameter is displayed only when NUMA is set to Disable.
  • Only the BIOSs on the following servers support this parameter:
    • BIOS V158 and later on TaiShan 200 servers (models 2280 and 5280)
    • BIOS V169 and later on TaiShan 200 servers (model 2280E)
    • BIOS V168 and later on TaiShan 200 servers (model 1280)
    • BIOS V316 and later on TaiShan 200 server (models 2280 VE, 5280 VE, and 5290)
    • All BIOS versions on TaiShan 200 Pro servers (models 1280 and 2280)

Disable

One Numa Per Socket

Enables or disables one NUMA for each CPU. The options are as follows:

  • Enabled
  • Disabled
NOTE:
  • This parameter is invisible when NUMA is set to Disabled.
  • If Die Interleaving is enabled, the memory modules of the CPUs are symmetrically configured, and the CPUs are automatically integrated into one NUMA architecture. If you need to set multiple NUMA architectures for each CPU, disable One Numa Per Socket and Die Interleaving.
  • This parameter is not supported by the following servers:
    • TaiShan 200 servers (models 2280, 2180, 5180, 5280, 2280 VF, and 5280 VF) configured with Kunpeng 920 5220 or 3210 processors
    • TaiShan 200 Pro server (model 2280) configured with Kunpeng 920 5225 processors
